Forum >> Zanzibar >> Kitesurfing in Paje January / February - what to take?

Most importantly, take your biggest kite! The wind is pretty light most of the time. I spent most of my time with a 14m kite and only flew my 9m a couple of times. With light wind and flat water it is a great place to learn to foil, although it is very shallow, so a short mast is preferable. One thing that you can definitely leave at home is your wetsuit as the water is the hot! Not warm, hot 😆 !! In January and February when I was there, the wind generally started in the afternoon and picked up steadily being the strongest when the sunset. Which is great when there is a full moon as you can actually continue kitesurfing in the dark!! I did get strung by jellyfish a couple of times which were quite painful.
