Forum >> General Chat >> Around the world kitesurf kit list?

If you were planning a trip kitesurfing around the world what kit would you take? For clarification, I do not mean to kitesurf around the world, but to travel around the world stopping at various places to go kitesurfing. I am trying to find the balance between taking kit to cater for all scenarios and take as little as possible to keep the weight down for ease of travel (especially in areas with no wind!) and to limit airline excess baggage fees. Challenge - can this be done under 23Kg? 😆 My current route plan is UK -> Maldives -> Malaysia -> Thailand -> Indonesia -> Australia -> New Zealand -> Cook Islands -> French Polynesia I am expecting light winds so I need to fit a foil in (oh and it can't be carbon!)

Currently I have: Crazyfly Chill board with Crazyfly Cruz 690 and 90cm mast (planning on getting 50cm mast for shallow water) and possibly taking 1200 wing if it will fit. Paired with my Slingshot UFO v 1.1 9m that should cover me for 10-15Knts of wind, and if necessary I can fly the UFO with twintip up to 25Knts. Next up is my Duotone Select twin tip board. I think I should take another 9m kite as my main weapon for 20-30Knt winds. I love my Slingshot SST so am thinking about replacing that with a newer model, but also like the idea of a Duotone EVO SLS (might rent one next week to see if they are worth it). Finally I think I need one big kite which is where I am a bit stuck. I have an old Cabrinha Switchblade 12m but it's super heavy and I am probably already overweight 😂. What would you take?
