Forum >> Foiling >> Slingshot Hoverglide Foil learning experience

I love Slingshots modular setup for foiling and when testing things out look to eBay to find some good deals to try things out. I initially bought an Alien Air board with NF2 foil with the set of 4 flight school masts. This was a heavy setup and quite cumbersome and I did not get far on a Cornish shore break. Whilst the big floaty board is supposed to be forgiving I just found it too heavy and will return to it at a later date. Next up I bought a Dwarf Craft board with Space Skate. Initially I put the 15cm trainer mast on and struggled for several sessions. After I changed to a taller mast things started to improve and I found that having more time to react with the longer mast made things much easier. The Dwarf Craft is more agile than the Alien Air and the bigger wing of the Space Skate slows things down and gives you time to adjust your position when getting up out of the water. The main issue is it's heavy to travel with so I have not used it in the last year as I bought a Crazy Fly Cruz which is several kilos lighter. Having had more practice foiling I now can't wait to give the Space Skate and Dwarf Craft another go with the standard 76cm mast. More to follow...
