Forum >> Dakhla >> Do I need a wetsuit in Dakhla?
  jim - Sat, 12 Aug 2023, 18:04
In July and August I personally recommend a 2/3mm shorty. You could probably get away with a rash vest and board shorts, but it would probably start to get a bit cold half way through your kitesurfing session. Most people are actually wearing full wetsuits although I think that’s a little overkill unless you are doing so to keep out of the sun. Surprisingly it is colder than further north and also Cabo Verde to the south and further out in the Atlantic. This must be due to the desert where it does get cooler in the evenings. I have worn a hoodie two or three times this month, but that’s about it. Interested to see what people think for other times of the year?
